Staged Treatment Financial Options

Staged Treatment

For most people, treatment cost is an important consideration and we do understand the potential financial stress that this may cause.

Our prosthodontic clinicians have an advanced understanding of the science behind a wide range of dental materials and techniques, which vary in costs, aesthetic / cosmetic attributes, mechanical strength and longevity. For those with financial restraints, we can skillfully restore teeth or replace teeth with carefully selected dental materials, which will satisfactorily fulfil the requirements in function and aesthetics / cosmetics needs, whilst providing a reasonably lasting outcome.

In addition, we may stage your treatment over a period of time to suit your timeline, such that the short term dental needs are addressed without losing sight of the long term treatment goals.

Insurance
Rebate

All private health insurance providers cover prosthodontic treatment, but the amount will depend on the level of your policy. Some of the participating Health Insurance Providers include Medibank Private, HBF, HIF, BUPA, MBF, HCF, HBA and GMHBA etc.

At Perth Prosthodontics, we do our best to assist you in managing the troublesome and confusing task of quoting for your private health insurance rebate. It is always less stressful when patients have clear knowledge of private health insurance rebate and out of pocket expenses prior to dental treatment.

With integrated HICAPS system, our treatment coordinator can electronically quote, or alternatively, represent you (with your authority) to liaise with your private health insurance provider. This coordinated effort allows for your treatment as planned in a staged manner, whilst optimising private insurance rebate and minimise your out of pocket expenses.

At the completion of each dental appointment, our reception staff will help to electronically process claim for your private health insurance rebate without further hassles due to you.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need a referral to visit the centre for prosthodontics?

Yes, a referral from your dentist is needed before booking an appointment with our team.

What’s the difference between a prosthodontist and a dentist?

Prosthodontists have undertaken an extra 3 years full time study in addition to formal dentistry training and are equipped with a variety of advanced techniques and skills to structurally solve complex dental issues.

How do I know if my problem requires a specialist prosthodontist?

We recommend seeing your dentist before commencing any dental work – they may refer you to a Prosthodontist depending on their skill level and the complexity of the work required.

How many appointments will I need?

This depends on the complexity required to solve your problem. Typically we will complete a minimum of two appointments before undertaking any work. In the first we understand your issue and discuss your goals and options. During this appointment we may also run some simple tests to help inform our planning. We then develop a treatment plan, which we will discuss with you in your second appointment. This will include details of all subsequent appointments you will require, and details of the costs involved.

How do I know what treatment I need?

You won’t know until we have completed a treatment plan. Your plan may contain one, or a combination of treatment options to solve your problem. Given everyone’s teeth and facial structure, and problems, are different, there is no way to confidently recommend one treatment before undertaking a thorough analysis.

How much will my treatment cost?

Until we have a full plan in place we unfortunately cannot give cost estimates, as all our work is completed bespoke for each patient. However, all costs associated with your treatment are provided in detail before any work begins.

NOT SURE WHAT TREATMENT YOU NEED?

While you can access our services without a referral, we strongly suggest you speak to your dentist first. Our team are available to help discuss your options.
