Dr. Janice Kan founded The Centre for Prosthodontics in 2011 and its education program to build on Perth’s reputation as a leading centre in advanced dental and prosthodontic treatments.
In the years since she has forged her reputation through holding fellowships and lecturer positions at well-respected institutions around the world, presenting her knowledge at many national and international dental education events, publishing her clinical and research work in the reputable dental journal and textbook, and being sought out for leadership roles in peak industry bodies – most notably as the Past President of the Academy of Australian and New Zealand Prosthodontists (AANZP) and Study Club Coordinator of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) Australasian Section.
A perfectionist by nature, Dr. Kan’s focus continues to be her hands-on clinical work, where she takes great pride in planning and execution of complex prosthodontic treatments that structurally and cosmetically solve her patient’s problems for the long term.

Dr. Hezel Cohen completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery, a five and a half year full time degree at the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, in 2001, graduating with the prestigious South African Prosthodontic Society’s Medal for outstanding work in Prosthodontics.
After spending 12 months providing primary oral health care and surgery in extreme rural conditions to some of the poorest communities in South Africa, he began working in the private sector before moving to Australia in 2008 where he enhanced his experience in oral surgery and restorative dentistry.
In 2013 he completed a one year Certificate in Restorative Dentistry (Prosthodontics) through King’s College, London and in 2019 completed his three-year full time Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) degree at the University of Melbourne, graduating with the Straumann Group Award for Academic Achievement.
Dr. Cohen joined the Centre for Prosthodontics as an associate in 2020. He also provides guest lectures to several local dental organisations and remains actively involved in the continual education for young dentists.

Dr. Adam Hamilton is a world-renowned, Australian board-certified prosthodontist with special interests in prosthodontic and surgical implant treatment. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours) at the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 2006 and attained a 3-year full time Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Prosthodontics) from the University of Melbourne in 2012.
In 2013, Adam joined the Centre for Prosthodontics and took a sabbatical in 2014 as he was the recipient of the International Team of Implantology (ITI) scholarship, through which he completed a Fellowship in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at University of Florida’s Centre for Implant Dentistry.
Pursuing an academic career, he joined the faculty at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston in 2016, where he became the Director of the Division of Regenerative Sciences and Implant Dentistry and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterial Sciences. He remains a lecturer for the Advanced Graduate Implant Dentistry program.
Relocating back to Perth in 2021, Dr. Hamilton has been appointed the Discipline Lead of Prosthodontics at UWA and has reunited with the Centre for Prosthodontics to continue private specialist practice.

Dr Hamilton’s academic research focuses on implant placement and loading protocols, the impact of digital technology in prosthodontics and implant dentistry, as well as digital workflows for implant rehabilitation of the edentulous patient. After completing undergraduate and postgraduate dental training, Dr. Elliott gained extensive experience in dental surgery practices in Australia and the UK, including an 18 month role as Senior House Officer in an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department.
He built on these foundations by completing a 4-year Master of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics (MClinDent) at Guy’s Hospital (King’s College), London, under the tutelage of Professor David Bartlett, a world-renowned authority on tooth wear. He graduated with distinction and was awarded the Membership in Restorative Dentistry for Prosthodontics (MRD Pros).
In 2017, Dr. Elliott joined the team at the Centre For Prosthodontics where he brings a keen interest in the challenges of restoring function and aesthetics in patients presenting with extensive tooth wear, as well as the emerging field of digital dentistry.
Dr. Elliott has a specialist registration to practise as a prosthodontist in Australia after completing his Doctor of Clinical Dentistry Prosthodontics (UWA) in 2022.
