About
Dr. Soo Hee Lim’s journey in dentistry is marked by passion, dedication, and a relentless pursuit of excellence. After completing her Bachelor of Dental Science and Graduate Diploma of Dentistry in Queensland, where she was awarded Academic Excellence, she furthered her research interest in dental implants by earning a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science (Honours). Throughout her academic career, Dr. Lim developed a deep fascination with prosthodontics.
Her path took an exciting turn when she travelled to South Korea for a holiday after finishing her dental degree. There, she attended a seminar on complete dentures led by renowned prosthodontist Dr. Anh. Inspired by his presentation, Dr. Lim was eager to delve deeper into removable prosthodontics. After reaching out to Dr. Anh, she was thrilled when he offered her the opportunity for three months of hands-on training at his clinic. It was during this time that Dr. Lim decided to pursue her passion and become a prosthodontist.
Upon returning to Australia, Dr. Lim launched her professional career in a dental clinic adjacent to aged care and regional centres, where restorative and removable prosthodontic treatments were in high demand. Over the years, she also volunteered at a refugee dental fair organised by Medical Missions in rural Queensland, in partnership with Queensland Health. Witnessing firsthand the transformative impact of restorative treatments on patients’ lives further fuelled her desire to deepen her expertise. This motivation led her to pursue a Doctor of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics at the University of Queensland.
While Dr. Lim is deeply committed to her work and patient care, she also cherishes her time outside the clinic. She enjoys relaxing with her dog, Tofu, indulging in her love for baking, and savouring delicious food. To balance her passion for food, she occasionally works out—enabling her to enjoy guilt-free treats. Dogs and food are her little joys that add flavour to life.
In 2025, Dr. Lim joined the Centre for Prosthodontics as an associate, where she now applies her expertise to deliver high-quality care to her patients. With a steadfast commitment to continuous learning and advancing the field of prosthodontics, she strives to improve patient outcomes and elevate the standard of dental care. Her passion for innovation and patient-centred treatment continues to drive her toward new milestones, ensuring that every patient receives the best possible care for a brighter, healthier smile.
