Join us on April 1st, 2026 for a study club session with Dr Aaron Wong, titled “Implant Verification – Necessity or Legacy Practice?”
This will be Dr Wong’s first Study Club, focusing on implant misfit and the role of implant verification jigs in contemporary prosthodontic workflows. Implant misfit is rarely the result of a single error, but rather the accumulation of small inaccuracies throughout the workflow — from impressions or digital scans, to model fabrication, through to milling and processing — often only becoming evident at the stage of prosthesis insertion.
This session will explore how implant verification jigs can be used as a practical risk-management step to identify and intercept these discrepancies before they result in costly remakes. Rather than asking whether verification should always be used, the discussion will focus on the more clinically relevant question: when does verification meaningfully reduce the risk of misfit, and when does it add limited value?
Conventional, hybrid digital, and fully digital verification strategies will be presented within a clear decision-making framework, grounded in current scientific evidence, clinical consequences, and workflow uncertainty. Participants will gain practical guidance on when and how to incorporate implant verification into their clinical workflows to support more predictable and efficient outcomes.
Attendees are also encouraged to bring their own cases for discussion, creating an interactive and clinically relevant learning environment.
This promises to be a valuable opportunity to deepen your understanding of implant workflows and refine your clinical decision-making—register now to secure your place.
