TEETH WHITENING IN SOUTH PERTH

You’ve found the world leaders in
worn or broken down dentition.

No two cases requiring complex rehabilitation are the same. It is not possible to apply blanket treatment approaches to cases, or have a fixed set of treatments to offer. Instead, every single case must be analysed individually to understand the root causes of the issue, including structural and lifestyle factors, and have a bespoke strategy developed that will fix the underlying problem to prevent recurring issues. Often, this can require the careful execution of multiple treatments, delivered in collaboration with a care team which may include other dental specialists (i.e. Endodontists, Periodontists, Orthodontists and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons). Doing this requires a wide range of advanced skills, and a thorough knowledge of the art, science and theory of complex rehabilitation.

Things to consider when selecting your Clinician.

Developing your treatment plan is an artform.

While removing damaged teeth may sound like a simple option, there are many benefits to saving your own teeth wherever possible, such as maintaining facial structure and reducing surgical complications. Identifying the correct path to take during complex rehabilitation of worn dentition requires careful analysis and a deep understanding of the latest techniques and approaches. This is an artform all on its own – without spending the time up front doing this you risk undertaking the wrong treatment which, once complete, cannot be undone.

Long-term success requires constant training.

All our Prosthodontists have undertaken formal postgraduate training in Prosthodontics, including publishing a number of recent research papers in leading journals. On our team you access world-leaders who currently teach advanced dentistry courses at some of the most prestigious institutions in the US, UK and Australia. This places us at the forefront of complex rehabilitation science and theory, supported by hands-on experience delivering the attention to detail that makes our solutions last for the long term.

Your investment extends beyond the treatment.

Through detailed planning, exceptional execution and careful management, we do everything to ensure your treatment lasts as long as possible, requiring as little maintenance as possible for now and the future.

Our process for treating Complex Rehabilitation for Worn Dentition.

Tooth wear is part of the natural ageing process, but when superimposed with attrition (grinding), erosion (acid dissolution) and other lifestyle factors, it can lead to a range of complex issues from sensitivity and poor aesthetics, to tooth loss and facial height collapse.

Most tooth wear cases tend to be highly complex due to the multiple number of teeth that are compromised in function and appearance, which is why we always start with a thorough analysis to determine what treatment/s should be undertaken to solve your challenge.

From here you will be presented with a thorough treatment plan, which will be discussed in detail so you understand the reasons behind our recommendations and how this can benefit you for the long term.

Frequently asked questions about Complex Rehabilitation for Worn Dentition.

Isn’t tooth removal an easier option?
Every tooth has its purpose in the jaw – either to serve the function of eating or chewing, supporting the bite, speech or smile aesthetics. Once teeth are removed, tooth replacement options will need to be considered and can have their own sets of challenges and complications. Therefore, tooth removal is not always the easy way out. Given tooth extraction is an irreversible decision, it should only be made if it is deemed terminal or beyond reasonable repair. With advanced knowledge and experience, it is not uncommon that our Prosthodontists can satisfactorily restore what appears to be a failing tooth, sometimes even if it was deemed unsalvageable by others. Doing this is definitely the harder path to take, but will preserve natural facial structure and typically result in less complications and maintenance than other replacement options.
How long will my treatment take to complete?
This depends entirely on the complexity of your treatment plan. Your challenge will be analysed individually and you will be presented with your treatment plan, including a full timeline by your treating Prosthodontist. This treatment plan will encompass control, holding, reconstructive and maintenance phases to ensure you will reach your set final goal. Some treatments can be completed in one sitting, whereas others require multiple treatments spread over a number of months to years. While it can be deflating to consider needing dental treatment over many years, setting goals and sticking to the plan is the best way to ensure stability for decades to come.
Why do I need a Prosthodontist to complete complex rehabilitation treatment?
Given the complexity and variety of rehabilitation treatment, it is not possible for the full scope of skills to be taught as part of a university undergraduate dental training program or degree. As such, the majority of dentists will refer these complex cases to dental specialists. Prosthodontists have undertaken a minimum of 3 years full-time specialist dental training on complex rehabilitation, in addition to general dentist qualification. With over 90 years of combined dental experience and specialised dental training from US, UK, Australia and South Africa, and equipped with the latest techniques and technologies, our team will look at your challenge from multiple angles and confidently recommend the best treatment options to solve your problem for the long term.
Do I need a Prosthodontist to complete my Ceramic or Porcelain veneers?
While many general dentists will offer Veneer treatment to their patients, there are complex situations when referral to Prosthodontists should be considered. In addition to general dentist qualifications, Prosthodontists have undertaken a minimum of 3 years full-time specialist dental training; the only specialty which focuses on dentofacial aesthetics and smile analysis in relation to Veneer treatment. With over 90 years of combined dental experience and specialised dental training from US, UK, Australia and South Africa, our team can provide simple to complex Veneer treatment and manage those with high aesthetic and functional needs and expectations. To the best of our ability, we will ensure the long term success of your Veneer treatment with as few future complications as possible.
HOW MUCH WILL MY TREATMENT COST?

Until we have a full plan in place we unfortunately cannot give cost estimates, as all our work is completed bespoke for each patient. However, all costs associated with your treatment are provided in detail before any work begins. Click here to find out more.
